Mr Ruddock, served as Australia’s Minister for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs from March 1996 to October 2003 under Prime Minister John Howard. As the nation's longest-serving immigration minister, and the 32nd Attorney-General of Australia from 2003 to 2007 under prime minister John Howard. The Hon. Philip Ruddock, will soon launch his new book Nation Building.
But this is not only an economic story. Nation Building also examines
how multiculturalism has strengthened Australia within the
constitutional framework of parliamentary democracy and the rule of law.
It explains how multiculturalism has strengthened Australia's social
fabric, giving new Australians a genuine sense of belonging and helping
build a country that is vibrant, globally connected and culturally
rich.
The book addresses the difficult global reality of forced
displacement, the limits of what any one country can do, and the
importance of maintaining Australia’s dedicated refugee and humanitarian
resettlement program with integrity and public confidence.

when immigration continues to dominate public debate, this book does
more than explain the past. It offers a necessary reckoning for the
