A Romantic Relationship 8/01/2026
Sydney – Middle East Times In’l:
US envoy Morgan Ortagus is reportedly in a romantic relationship with Lebanese businessman and banker Antoun Sehnaoui, according to claims circulating in US and Lebanese media. Ortagus, who is married and a mother of two, has previously drawn attention for remarks in which she called on Israel to bomb the funeral of the late Hez-bol-lah leader Hassan Nasr-allah.
US right-wing political activist Laura Loomer said the Trump administration placed Ortagus on “administrative leave” over the alleged relationship, though no official confirmation has been issued. Separately, a leaked receipt purportedly shows jewelry purchases exceeding $50,000 from Tiffany & Co., listing Sehnaoui as the cardholder and Ortagus as the recipient.
Sehnaoui is the chairman of the SGBL Group and has been investigated by US authorities on suspicion of laundering money to Hez-bol-lah, allegations he has denied. He has also been accused of financially supporting Jnoud al-Rab (Soldiers of God), an ultra-right-wing Christian conservative group in Lebanon, according to regional media reports.
