(See translation in Arabic section)
Sydney-Middle East Times Int'l:
The Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC) extends its deepest condolences to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the global Muslim ummah on the passing of His Eminence Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Sheikh, the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia.
His Eminence served as the Kingdom’s highest religious authority with distinction, guiding millions of Muslims with his scholarship, leadership, and deep commitment to Islamic principles. His decades of service were marked by unwavering dedication to preserving the sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques and offering religious guidance in a time of immense global change.
“The passing of Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Sheikh is a loss for the entire Muslim world,” said Dr Rateb Jneid, President of AFIC. “His leadership, scholarship, and deep sense of duty will be remembered by generations of scholars and students alike. We ask Allah (SWT) to accept his service and grant him the highest rank in Jannah.”
AFIC joins Muslims around the world in mourning this loss and in praying for continued unity and guidance for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its religious leadership in this time of transition.
إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.
Dr Rateb Jneid
President -AFIC
