Launch of the First LNG export shipment in the Wheatstone Project with Kuwaiti KUFPEC partnership

H. E. Mr Najeeb AlBader, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Australia, expressed his great pleasure for participating recently in the launch of the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) export cargo from the Wheatstone project in Onslow in Western Australia, which took place in the presence of the Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company  KUFPEC Sheikh Nawaf Saud Nasir Al-Sabah, the Chairman of the board and Chief Executive Officer of Chevron Corporation, Mr John Watson, Premier of West Australia, the Hon Mark McGowan BA LLB MLA, former Premier of Western Australia, Mr Colin Barnett, and many Australian officials and representatives from several economic and trade organisations.

In this regards, Mr Al-Bader highly praised the success of Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company in securing an international presence in this sector through becoming a founding partner in this vital project. As KUFPEC holds the second largest share in Wheatstone project which is operating under the management of Chevron Corporation.

Furthermore, Mr Al-Bader highlighted the aspiration and keenness of the State of Kuwait to diversify its sources of energy and further enhance and promote trade and investment ties between the State of Kuwait and Australia in order to reach new and more diverse horizons.
