The president of the "Liberal Democrats" Party, Tracy Chamoun, condemns the explosion, which targeted a Lebanese army convoy near Arsal leading to the death of two soldiers Ali Kharrat and Mohamed Daher, and wounding four others. She also denounces the execution of the captured soldier, martyr Mohammed Hammiye, by Jabhat El Nosra and extends her deepest regrets to the families of the martyred soldiers. She sends the Army command her sincerest condolences praying for a speedy recovery for those injured in the blast.

The president of the "Liberal Democrats" warned of the rising tension in Tripoli which is experiencing repeated acts of aggression and unacceptable virulent verbal assaults against the Lebanese Army by the jihadists Islamic State rebels whose objective it is to declare this northern city their Islamic emirate - A threat which the population of Tripoli will pay for dearly, and which the Army is heroically trying to guard against.

Chamoun continued: “This difficult phase being experienced by the nation demands that the election of a President of the Republic with the necessary courage and experience to cope with the present crisis be prioritized, because should the vacuum persist, its effects will be far more devastating in view of the increasing terrorist threat when confronted by a weakened state.”
