The Minister of Interior and Municipalities in the caretaker government, Bassam Mawlawi, confirmed, after a meeting held to discuss the security situation in Beirut, in the presence of the security services affiliated with Beirut, that “the Information Division and the security forces in Beirut are stopping criminals very quickly and combating crime.”
He said: “We held the meeting in order to have a clear security plan that would comfort the citizens, because Beirut is the face of Lebanon and its capital, and we must preserve it.” And when he announced that “the Information Division and the security forces in Beirut are stopping criminals very quickly and combating crime,” he pointed out that “the arrests made The security services are increasingly carrying out these crimes, and all crimes will be revealed,” according to the Lebanese News Agency website.

He reiterated that "the issue of Syrian displacement does not come within the framework of incitement or racism," noting that "the laws will apply to everyone," noting at the same time that "the General Directorate of Public Security received the data, in coordination with UNHCR and municipalities, to determine the numbers of displaced Syrians."
He concluded: "We will intensify patrols on the Rafic Hariri International Airport-Beirut road, in cooperation with the Dahiya Police, and we will demand that it be illuminated."
