MUSCAT — A training course entitled “Development of Legal and Administrative Skills and Application of Laws and Regulations,” started at the Ministry of Information yesterday with the participation of 20 staff from various departments of the Ministry.

Sheikh Majeed bin Mohammed al Rowas, Director-General of Information presided over the opening ceremony.

The five-day course aims at familiarising the participants with the most important information and practical applications to develop legal and administrative skills in their service, especially with regard to investigation principles, preparation of notes, good preparation and drafting of contracts and regulations together with the interpretation and application of laws and regulations.

The course also aims at defining contract, its types, and most important sections upon which the administrative contract is based, discrepancies in the contract, as well as identifying the most important privileges enjoyed by the legal affairs officer.

The training course will touch upon several topics including the principles of preparing and revising of administrative contracts, advanced principles in administrative investigation, ways to prepare and draft legal memoranda, administrative decisions and regulations, as well as terms of reference of the Legal Affairs Department and its role in clarifying the competences of judicial officers’ work.

The course also included workshops and practical applications on the main course. Dr Faris Amran, Legal Training Expert will deliver lectures during the course.
