Metro Petroleum owners welcome MP Michel Moawad in Sydney

The owners of Metro Petroleum, brothers John and George Dib, along with Elie J. Dib and company employees, welcomed the Lebanese MP Michel Moawad, head of the Independence Movement, and his accompanying delegation at the company's headquarters in Auburn, Sydney. Several journalists were present, including Camil Shalala, Sayed Mikhae, Joseph Khoury and Antoine Kazzi.

Mr Moawad's delegation included retired Brigadier General René Moawad, A. Barakat, coordinator of the Independence Movement in Australia, and S. Doueihy, the movement's coordinator in Sydney.

The meeting included a presentation on the situation of the Lebanese community in Australia, as well as a discussion of the most prominent developments on the Lebanese scene. Mr Moawad praised the successful careers of Jean and George Dib and their significant contributions to the Australian-Lebanese community. The issue of registering expatriates to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections was also discussed, with attendees emphasising the importance of registration and active participation in this national event. 
The visit coincided with John Dib's birthday, and a cake was cut in the presence of Mr Moawad and the accompanying delegation to celebrate the occasion.
