Sydney - Middle East Times Int’l:
MP Mark Daw wrote via the "X" platform: "The biggest danger to depositors is postponing solutions until after the 2026 elections, i.e. after forming a new government and a new parliament. Which means postponing the solution for another three years."
He added: "The proposal for legislative powers is to prevent political manipulation of the parliament and to put the matter in the hands of a government whose priority is the people's concern and enjoys the integrity of the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister and a non-partisan working team that proposes solutions that do justice to depositors and launch the restructuring of banks."
He concluded: "The oath speech is clear in this regard, as is the word of the prime minister-designate, and we are with them alongside the rights of depositors."
