Sydney - Middle East Times Int’l: Sydney bid farewell to the late Nazih Nicolas from the "Hadath El Jebbeh" in Lebanon, with a crowded funeral in the Church of St. Joseph in Croydon. The funeral was headed by the Patron of the Maronite Diocese, His Excellency Bishop Antoine Charbel Tarabay, with the assistance of Monsignor Marcelino Youssef and several priests. In attendance were the Lebanese Ambassador to Australia and the Lebanese Consul General in Sydney, nuns, as well as councilors of municipalities, representatives of Lebanese parties, heads of associations, businessmen and activists from the Lebanese community, and media representatives.
After the Holy Gospel, Bishop Tarabay delivered a memorial sermon on the merits and contributions of the deceased, which reflected the meanings and spirituality of Great Lent and Holy Week.
After the funeral ceremony, the family accepted the condolences of the attendees inside the church. Then large numbers of worshipers participated in a mercy meal to the soul of the deceased in the church square.
On this sad occasion, the ediotial board of “Middle East Times Int’l” extends its deepest heartfelt condolences to the wife of the deceased and all his children, their families, and relatives, especially his two sons Salim and Danny, asking Almighty God to cover the dear deceased with His vast mercy and dwell him in heavenly abode.
Whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live.
