Condolences Over Loss of Life in Large US Air Tanker Crash Jodi McKay has expressed sincere condolences for the deaths of three firefighters in this afternoon’s tragic water bomber crash in the Snowy Monaro region. The crew were operating a C-130 large air tanker which was found about three hours after it disappeared from flight radars. “NSW is again in mourning for the loss of three people working to contain fires,” the NSW Labor Opposition Leader said. “My deepest condolences to their families, friends and colleagues. Today, and every day, we thank our RFS and responders from here and around the world who risk their lives to protect us.” Ms McKay said the tragedy was a reminder of the dangerous reality of the bushfires that have caused such devastation around the country, and the valuable contribution international fire fighters have made to the crisis. Trish Doyle, Labor Shadow Minister for Emergency Services, added: “This is yet another reminder of the danger our emergency services personnel are in on the frontline to keep our communities safe”. |
