Sydney - M. E. TIMES Int'l: NSW opposition leader Luke Foley together with the State MP for Granville Julia Finn held a Ramadan Iftar in the presence of a large crowd of Arab, Somali, Turkish, Afghan and Bosnian Muslims at the Grandville Youth Center.

The ceremony was also attended by Arab, foreign diplomats and heads of communities, including the Palestinian ambassador Dr. Izzat Abdel Hadi and Parramatta Bishop Long Van Nguyen.

During the ceremony, MP Julia Finn, Sheikh Malik Zaidane, opposition leader Luke Foley and leader of the Catholic Church in Parramatta Long Van Nguyen took the floor respectively.

The speeches focused on the meanings of the month of Ramadan and the many charitable works that take place during the holy month.

Opposition leader Luke Foley praised the Islamic life diversity in western Sydney which embodies many customs and cultures practiced in accordance with the Islamic religion. He explained that this is what he always conveys with Julia to their parliamentary colleagues in order to deliver a clearer picture and better understanding.

The opposition leader concluded his speech by addressing the deprivation of the western Sydney area, long since the municipal elections.
