Caritas Lebanon

Caritas Lebanon Migrant Center (CLMC) is a specialized center of Caritas Lebanon, one of the most prominent non-governmental organizations (NGO) in Lebanon. Every year, CLMC helps more than 120,000 migrants and refugees by providing comprehensive assistance and legal counseling to these vulnerable human beings, in line with our moral values of solidarity, human dignity and self-reliance. Through our mission and vision, we aim to fight abuse, social exclusion, prejudice and discrimination.

CLMC upholds the Gospel’s teachings, which oppose all forms of oppression and promote justice for all, regardless of political, religious, or social beliefs. It also bases its work on the principles stated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as well as international conventions and protocols adopted by the international community. Hence, we advocate for their ratification and implementation in Lebanese law and practice.

We strongly believe that change comes from collaboration with all members of civil society and relevant authorities. Therefore, we work in close collaboration with the Lebanese government, representatives of 13 embassies and take a stand along with our network of non-governmental organizations and within 2 national steering committees. We also reach out to Lebanese society to increase the general public’s awareness on human rights, and to change prejudices and habits.

At an international level, we also provide our expertise within the COATNET, the MFA and our network of non-governmental organizations as well as within international agencies, including the High Commission for refugees, the International Organization for Migration and the International Labour Organization.

CLMC is also a member of Caritas Internationalis, one of the largest international humanitarian networks in the world, including 162 Catholic organizations working in over 200 countries and territories.

President Message

President Father Simon Faddoul

Together for the Glory of God

Since its foundation 36 years ago, Caritas Lebanon remains the hope in the heart of misery, the light in the dark nights of the ones who suffer.

Moved by love and goodwill, Caritas Lebanon assists all the people who experience difficult living conditions or carry the burden of sickness and poverty. It offers assistance, love and countless efforts to relieve the dearest human beings to the Lord! In its daily work, it only refers to the Church's and the Gospel's teaching.

How can we contribute to the recovery of a nation when most of its population is hungry, thirsty and do not benefit from any medical insurance?
