Aoun mourns soccer player Mohamed Atwi: justice will take its course

18/09/2020

Lebanon-- President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, mourned the international soccer player, Mohamed Atwi, who died this morning from being hit by a stray bullet last month.

President Aoun tweeted: "It is painful that the international player, Mohamed Atwi, joined the convoy of young people whom Lebanon lost as a result of the lack of awareness of some of the dangers posed by their irresponsible behavior. He was distinguished by his performance and raised the name of his country high. Justice will be served. All consolation to his family, and may God have mercy on his soul."--Presidency Press office
