The media office of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport confirmed, in a statement, “its diligent follow-up of the file of the Iranian plane and the Lebanese wishing to return to Lebanon.”
It announced that “the Minister of Public Works and Transport is following up the file directly, and in full coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants and Middle East Airlines, to ensure the return of the Lebanese quickly and with dignity.”
The statement indicated that “those wishing to return can use any neighboring country according to the available circumstances, without incurring any additional costs.”
It explained that “coordination is taking place directly with the Lebanese ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran to complete the procedures and address any problems that may arise, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues its contacts with the Iranian authorities to facilitate the immediate return.”
The ministry stressed that "ensuring the regularity of work at Rafic Hariri International Airport facilities according to the highest international standards is one of its priorities, in order to preserve the continuity of operation of this vital facility, which is Lebanon's gateway to the world."
It stressed that it "will not hesitate to take appropriate solutions to ensure the return of the airline between Lebanon and Iran to work according to approved international standards, and in a way that achieves the general national interest and desired goals."
The statement concluded by noting "the Minister of Public Works' appreciation for the understanding and patience of Lebanese citizens in light of these exceptional circumstances," stressing that "efforts are continuing to secure their return as soon as possible."
