Sydney - M. E. TIMES: Dr. Obaid Al Hairi Salem Al Ketbi, was appointed as the new UAE Ambassador designate to Australia. The new ambassador has sworn in before Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister.

The new UAE Ambassador designate to Australia, pledges loyalty to the United Arab Emirates, its President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and to respect the laws and the constitution, as well as put the interest of the country above all else, and to discharge their duties with honesty and sincerity.

Sheikh Mohammed wished the ambassador success in their missions, urging them to preserve the interests of the state and its people abroad, and to set a good example in upholding morality and authentic national values, and work hard to promote cooperation, friendship and fraternity between the UAE and Australia, in mutual benefit of the people of UAE and their peoples.

The Vice President stressed the UAE’s balanced policy and building of humanitarian, cultural and economic bridges between Emiratis and the peoples of the world to consolidate culture and principles of coexistence, peace and equality among all peoples irrespective of their geographical, ethnic and religious affiliations.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director-General of the Department of Protocols and Hospitality in Dubai, and a number of Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials.

It’s noted that Mr Bilal Al Bodour was appointed as the UAE ambassador designate to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
