BASSIL VISITS HARIRI: We Are on The Right Track to Form a Government

19 Oct 2018

Lebanon - Prime minister-designate Saad Hariri received today at the Center House Minister Gebran Bassil and discussed with him the developments regarding the formation of the government. Talks continued over lunch.

After the meeting that lasted more than two hours, Minister Bassil said: "In short, I would like to say that things are very positive, and I think we are on the right track to form a government that applies the standards of justice and representation, a national unity government that doesn't exclude anyone but on the contrary seeks to include everyone.

The most important is to have a productive government that satisfies people's hopes, not only through the formation of the government, but also in its work because we do not want people to have new disappointments.

From our side, we made all the possible concessions and facilities so we reach a government that takes into account all the points, in terms of numbers and portfolios, a government that is balanced, at the image of the country. Today I think we are on the right track to see the formation of the government soon. Of course, this is in the hands of the Prime Minister-designate, who consults with the President and they agree.

But in what concerns us, we can say that we agreed completely, without hurting the rights of anyone, on the contrary we gave from our share for the government formation. Hopefully, the Lebanese will be happy."
