Mathew Leckie's second-half goal helped Australia edge past Denmark on Wednesday for a place in the World Cup round of 16, while Tunisia crashed out of the tournament despite beating defending champions France 1-0.
Leckie struck on the counter-attack on the hour mark to help Australia qualify in second place, with the Danes finishing bottom of Group D knowing that only a win would have seen them through.
Having already secured a berth in the latter stages, table-toppers France made nine changes in the losing effort against the Eagles of Carthage, as Wahbi Khazri's solo effort just before the hour mark condemned Les Blues to defeat.
Australia go on to face the winners of Group C in the round of 16, while Didier Deschamps' side will take on the second place finishers.
