Together For Humanity receives Government funding to continue our important work with young Australians

Dear Friends,

We are thrilled to let you know that our bid to secure funding from the Australian Government has been successful!

The Government has committed $8.1M over four years, 2021-2025, to Together For Humanity to support Australian school communities to prevent prejudice and strengthen social cohesion.

The funding will support over 100 schools to design innovative approaches to advancing harmony that can then be rolled out to every school in Australia, and will allow us to significantly increase the scale and impact of our work through an online learning platform for students and teachers across Australia.

It will also support the establishment of a National Award for Excellence to recognise student, teacher and school champions of ‘inclusive citizenship.’

The funding will enable us to significantly bolster our mission of fostering understanding and respect between people from different backgrounds.

Watch our National Director's response to the funding announcement here

The funding comes at a crucial time as communities continue to recover from the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.

We have seen how social cohesion can either be enhanced, with people coming together in difficult times, or - as many Australians of Chinese heritage found - problems overseas can turn people against each other here.

We thank you, our supporters, for helping us get to this point. This Government funding comes largely because of the support we receive from the community.

We are confident that community support will continue, so that between the Government, our partnerships with schools, other NGOs and the support of the community, we will see a game changer initiative for sustainable impact over the next four years.

Warm regards,

Rabbi Zalman Kastel AM and the Together For Humanity team
