Army: 31 soldiers injured in Tripoli, 5 people arrested

Lebanon - The Lebanese Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued Wednesday the following communiqué:

"31 soldiers have been wounded after being attacked by a number of protesters with stones, Molotov cocktails, and firecrackers, during the demonstrations that took place in the city of Tripoli on 26/1/2021. Also, military vehicles and gear have been damaged.

Five people have been arrested for causing damages to public and private properties, as well as for inciting riots and assault on security forces.

Investigations have kicked off under the supervision of the competent judicial authority."
