GCC, OIC, Jordan commend Saudi Arabia for acting on Khashoggi's death

21/10/2018

RIYADH-- Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) Secretary General Abdullatif Al-Zayani Saturday commended measures conducted by Saudi Arabia regarding death of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

"These were decisive measures that affirm commitment of the Kingdom's leadership in making facts available for the international public opinion ... and punishing those involved in this incident," Al-Zayani said in a statement.

He said Saudi Arabia has shown a desire to disclose circumstances of this incident.

Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) also praised the transparent way that Saudi Arabia dealt with Khashoggi's case, where the Saudi public prosecution was still investigating 18 Saudi citizens over his death.

Saudi Arabia is firm believer in justice and will not deviate from that principle, OIC Secretary General Yusuf Al-Othaimeen said in a statement.

The Jordanian government underlined importance of the Saudi measures to investigate Khashoggi's murder.
