The Hon Alan Tudge MP - Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs
Greetings from Hon. Alan Tudge MP - Eid al-Fitr
After a month of fasting, prayer and reflection during Ramadan, I send my best wishes to all Australian Muslims for this celebration and time of sharing with family and friends.
I have had the pleasure of sharing several Iftar meals during Ramadan and have appreciated the very warm welcome extended to me.
Ramadan is a time for charity and I commend the good work of many Australian Muslims across the nation for helping those who are less fortunate.
These acts of kindness and generosity strengthen our communities.
The Australian Government values our cultural and religious diversity in Australia, and the important contribution of all of our faith communities. They are an integral part of our diverse and accepting society.
Australian multiculturalism, based on integration, is the most successful in the world.
We respect and embrace the rights of all Australians to celebrate, practice and maintain their cultural traditions within the law and free from discrimination.
I wish everyone a happy and blessed Eid al-Fitr.
