Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, attended a lecture by psychologist Angela Duckworth on Wednesday at Majlis Mohamed bin Zayed.

The lecture, which was attended by other dignitaries including Hessa Essa Buhumaid, UAE Minister of Community Development, was titled ‘True Grit: The Surprising, and Inspiring Science of Success’.

Ms Duckworth is the founder and chief executive of Character Lab, a nonprofit whose mission is to advance the science and practice of character development. She is also the Christopher H Browne Distinguished Professor of Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania, faculty co-director of the Penn-Wharton Behaviour Change For Good Initiative, and faculty co-director of Wharton People Analytics.

Her first book, Grit: The Power of Passion and Perserverance, was a number 1 New York Times bestseller when it was published in 2016.
