The best place to visit right now

Forbes magazine of US described the Sultanate as one of the best travel destinations in the Middle East. A report published by the magazine said that the Sultanate has abundance historic and natural sites coupled with the hospitality of its people making it the best destination in the region.

The report highlighted the importance of Muscat City which is a place where there’s an incredible amount of history as a trading port between the west and the east, and the cultural influences here are around every corner. This is the place to really get a feel for life in Oman. The place to really connect with the locals, and experience the culture firsthand.

The writer also covered a number of tourist attractions, such as Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. The report added that the Mosque is beyond impressive, besides being able to accommodate 40,000 worshipers, and having a 230’ x 197’ prayer carpet — which is made up of 1,700,000,000 knots, weighs 42,000 pounds and took four years to construct.

The writer concluded the report by praising the high level of security enjoyed by everyone in Oman saying: “While in Oman we never once felt unsafe, even as two female travellers who clearly did not belong. We were welcomed at every turn, fed incredible meals in restaurants only known to locals, and had deep eye-opening conversations with some of the most interesting people we’ve ever met. It fed our souls in a way that no other place has done recently, and that alone is why Oman is the best place to travel to in the Middle East right now.”
