KUWAIT-- The air arm of the Kuwaiti military travelled to neighboring Saudi Arabia on Sunday to participate in a pan-Gulf exercise, which kicks off on Tuesday and ends on April 16.

The Commander of the Kuwaiti Air Force Major General Abdullah Al-Foudari bid farewell to the officers upon their departure, read a statement by Kuwait's defense ministry.

The drill, christened, "Joint Gulf Shield 1", focuses on war preparedness and exercises that aim to boost the Gulf region's collective military prowess, the statement added.
