François Hollande’s hairdresser makes almost €10,000 a month: report

French President François Hollande’s hairdresser earns a gross salary of €9,895 a month, according to a report in French weekly Le Canard Enchaîné, to be published Wednesday.

The hairdresser, named by the paper as Olivier B., signed a five-year contract with Hollande’s chief of staff in May 2012, AFP reports, citing Le Canard.

Over the course of the president’s mandate, which ends next year, the hairdresser will have received a gross salary of more than €590,000.

The hairdresser regularly follows Hollande during his travels, according to Le Canard.

“Mr B. commits to maintaining the utmost secrecy, during and after the completion of his contract, on the work he has done and the information he may fall upon,” the contract reads, according to Le Canard.
