Over 11,000 visitors tour Kuwaiti pavilion at Expo Milano 2015

MILAN-- Over 11,000 visitors flock daily to see the sights at the Kuwaiti pavilion in Expo Milano 2015, enjoying an attractive multi-media presentation of life in Kuwait, past and present, said a pavilion official on Saturday.

The pavilion offers the visitor the stages of development of life in Kuwait from the pre-oil discovery days to the present with the emphasis on the resourcefulness of Kuwaitis in dealing with an arid environment, devoid of water and vegetation, said the pavilion assistant director Bader Al-Mutairi, in remarks to KUNA.

The way Kuwaitis took on in the past constraints of the environment and dealt with them productively is shown through a 3-D documentary at the pavilion, he said.

To get a glimpse into the kinds of fish that exist in Kuwait and means of fish-farming used, the pavilion offers the visitor a look at a large aquarium aside from also informing the visitor, through films, about the making of some Kuwaiti handicrafts, like making tents, he said.

The pavilion also introduces the visitor to a representation of a traditional marketplace in Kuwait, complete with its sounds and sights and aromas, he said.

It is noteworthy that the pavilion was designed by famed Italian architect Italo Rota.
