OMAN: Majlis to host Information Minister

MUSCAT: Dr Abdulmunim bin Mansour al Hasani, Minister of Information, will address Majlis Ash’shura on January 28 and 29. Sheikh Ali bin Nassir al Mahrouqi, Secretary-General of the Majlis Ash’shura said the minster will speak a number of themes identified by the Majlis, the most important of which include the media policy, printing and publications, Oman News Agency, media developments and and media awareness.

Sheikh al Mahrouqi said that during the 8th session, the Majlis will discuss a report of the Legislative and Legal Committee on draft regulating of work of the engineering consultancy offices and reports of the Health and Environmental Committee on draft amendments to some provisions of the Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law and the law regulating the practice of pharmacy and pharmaceutical institutions profession.

He added that during the session, the Majlis will be notified on the GCC Unified Law for Anti-Dumping and Compensatory and Preventive Measures and the reply of the Council of Ministers to the Majlis report on the crushers, quarries and minerals in the Sultanate, in addition to its reply to the Majlis report on the agencies concerned with the tourism sector and means of promoting them.
