At the same time, they demanded that the trials of the remaining convicted Islamist terrorists be resumed with the issuance of appropriate verdicts against them, in order to preserve the dignity of the state and the rule of law.

Thirdly: 136 days have elapsed with a continued vacuum in the presidency of the republic as the nation's Congress fails to carry out its duty to elect a new a president and safeguard Lebanese institutions and the constitution. Especially, as the members of Parliament are proceeding to position themselves for an extension of their mandate, thus denying the will of the people for democratic elections. The Party is demanding the accountability of these Representatives and are deeply concerned about the image of Lebanon as an example of democracy in the world.

Fourthly: In the face of the deterioration of the security situation in certain areas, the Party asks every Lebanese to be remain vigilant and to cooperate fully with the legitimate security authorities in their regions. In this context, they were relieved at the initiatives taken to arm the Lebanese Army and the Security Forces, enabling them to extend their activities more broadly over the whole territory in defense of its sovereignty.

They called on the politicians to assume their national responsibilities and be more willing to cooperate with each other and make the necessary concessions to arrive at the vital solutions to these crises.
