Paris: French President Francois Hollande and Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Transport Department and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA), yesterday inaugurated Exhibition Birth of a Museum in Napoleon Hall at Louvre Paris.

The event was attended by a number of French ministers, UAE Ambassador to France Mohammed Mir Abdullah Al Raisi and a number of leading cultural and media personalities.

Sheikh Sultan will open on Wednesday the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Theatre at Napoleon Palace. He said that "We are marking an important phase in the development of Louvre Abu Dhabi", adding that the lending of collections of permanent museum for displaying in the Napoleon hall at Louvre Paris, is the defining moment in history of Louvre Abu Dhabi." He referred to the great success scored last year by the Birth of Museum Exhibition organised by TCA, adding that "We are seizing this opportunity to showcase the collections to multi-national visitors".

Sheikh Sultan thanked President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for their efforts to preserve the cultural heritage, extending his gratitude to President Hollande for his historic sponsorship of the show.

For his part, President Hollande thanked the UAE for choosing Louvre, which embodies the great project of Louvre Abu Dhabi with a UAE's perspectives, adding that the project reflect a story of togetherness. He urged all the French cultural institutions to back Louvre Abu Dhabi project.
