OMAN: TV studio to provide students work skills

NIZWA — Dr Abdulmunim bin Mansour al Hasani, Minister of Information, yesterday opened TV production studio at Nizwa College of Applied Sciences (NCAS) during his visit to the college. The studio contains high quality TV broadcasting studio, control room and montage room.

Dr Abdulmunim also opened an exhibition for Design Department students, an exhibition for Communication Studies Department students in the presence of Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed al Sarmi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education.

The minister was briefed on the recreational activities conducted by the college. He also met with college students and teaching staff.

Dr Salim bin Abdullah al Naabi, Dean of NCAS, said that the studios are an important addition besides the existing facilities at the college and they aim to consolidate the practical side in teaching which would give the students important skills before joining the labour market.

NCAS is a centre of Communication Studies programme in digital media, media management, journalism, public relations, advertising, and international communication. It is also a centre for the design programme with its various majors, including digital design, graphic design, and spatial design, as well as international business administration.
