Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation’s total donations to Syria are around SR8 Million.

Alwaleed Foundation’s donation is part of its commitment to provide rapid aid and support to all affected communities around the world. The SR2 Million donation was made through The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to assist the Syrian Refugees in Lebanon and through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and through Nulabi Al-Nida (We answer the call) initiative sponsored by HRH Prince Turki Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud with “The Second Saudi Joint Bridge Relief Campaign” to assist Syrian Refugees in Jordan and inside Syria.

The Foundation aims to play a leading role in providing relief to families in Syria. In 2012, Alwaleed Foundation announced a SR5 Million donation to the Syrian people. This commitment was made during a live telethon on Saudi television in response to the directives of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The campaign to support the Syrian people has come amid accelerating violence where thousands had lost their lives since it began in 2011. The Saudi’s from all the Kingdom's regions had been urged to participate in the relief campaign. The campaign also brought  writers, thinkers and intellectuals to comment on the current situation of the Syrian victims on Saudi TV.

Also in 2013, Alwaleed Foundation donated SR250,000 through The Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND) to support the Syrian refugees in Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan. In addition, Alwaleed Foundation donated SR 375,000 in 2012 through AGFUND, to support the Syrian refugees.

According to UNICEF’s report over 110,000 refugee children and their families in Lebanon face extreme weather conditions as increasingly dire conditions are reported in tented settlements and collective shelters. Families are running out of fuel to keep children warm, and ramshackle tents are buckling under the weight of the falling snow. Moreover, according to UNHCR, around 125,000 refugees are living in Eastern Lebanon, the most affected area by the storm.

Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundations are involved in a wide spectrum of humanitarian and philanthropic activities in more than 83 countries. Their main focus areas have been established around strategic initiatives, ranging from Disaster Relief and Community Development, to Women and Youth Empowerment, as well as Promoting Intercultural Understanding.
