Bob Carr set to quit Senate in a week

October 17, 2013

(Translation of this article appears in Arabic section)

BOB Carr will resign from the Senate without sitting again in parliament, with the NSW Labor Right expected to nominate one of its defeated MPs as the former foreign minister's replacement. Senator Carr, who was re-elected last month, will announce his retirement in the coming week, just 18 months after he was recruited by Julia Gillard.
