UAE shouldered its responsibilities towards Syrian people: Abdullah

20 April 2013

The UAE has shouldered its responsibilities towards the Syrian people through delivery of relief assistance to Syrian refugees in neighbouring countries, Foreign Minister Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed.

Shaikh Abdullah, who today took part in the Friends of Syria meeting in Turkish capital Istanbul, said the UAE has also thrown its weight behind Arab and international initiatives in that respect.

Shaikh Abdullah stressed the meeting plays an important role in unifying points of views and mobilising efforts towards reaching a political settlement to the Syrian crisis in a way that halts bloodshed and preserves the country’s security and territorial integrity.
