Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water, and Anthony Albanese, Australian Minister of Infrastructures an Transportation, yesterday discussed cooperation relations between the two countries and ways of promoting them in environmental, transportation and infrastructure fields.
The meeting, which was attended by Abdul Rahim Al Hammadi, Ministry's Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services, Pablo Kang, Australian Ambassador to the UAE, and other senior officials.
Bin Fahad stressed that his ministry was seeking to strengthen partnerships with exporting countries of food products and materials to the UAE, whether for consumption within the state or for re-export and trade.
He also pointed out to the ministry's efforts to develop work procedures for Halal products in implementation the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's initiative to establish Islamic Economy, explaining that Halal foods sector is one of the most important components of that economy.
Albanese praised the UAE's efforts in enhancing the environmental security and environmental projects being carried out by the UAE, hailing the ministry's role in activating cooperation and partnerships with Australia, which has contributed to the growth of intra-regional trade.
