UAE supports just Arab causes: Mohammed

DUBAI - His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice- President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said today that the leadership, government and people of the UAE unconditionally support Arab just and legitimate causes.
Shaikh Mohammed said during a meeting at Zabeel Palace with the visiting Libyan Prime Minister, Dr. Ali Zidan, that the UAE policy in that respect was based on the principles of peace, justice, equality and freedom for all people across the world along with realising security, stability and economic prosperity in “our Arab Region”.
Shaikh Mohammed and the Libyan premier reviewed bilateral ties and took stock of the current events in the Arab World, including the political changes in Libya.
Dr. Zidan briefed Sheikh Mohammed on the political and economic transformation Libya is currently undergoing under the new era,
stressing that his country was planning to rebuild the modern Libya in urban, educational, social and economic sectors.
He said Libya was willing to draw lessons from the UAE development model and experiment, especially in infrastructure, real estate, trade, security, ports, education and tourism.
He said the Libyan government and people were grateful to Sheikh Mohammed and the UAE leadership for the support and assistance they extended to the Libyan people during their revolution for freedom and development.
Present at the meeting were Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State, and other top officials. Mohamed Abdulaziz, Libya’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Dr. Aref Al Nayed, Libyan Ambassador to the UAE, attended from the Libyan side.
