Mohamed bin Zayed receives Indian Foreign Minister
His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, today received Indian Foreign Minister, Salman Khurshid, who is currently visiting the UAE.
Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the visiting minister and discussed the bilateral relations between the UAE and India and ways of enhancing them in various fields in the best interest of the two friendly countries.
The meeting reviewed the existing cooperation between the two sides and emphasised on the importance of continuous coordination and consultation between the two friendly countries, in the light of Keenness of the leadership in both countries on upgrading the existing ties.
The two sides exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest. They also tackled the latest regional and international developments.
Kurshid also met with H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs. During their meeting, the two ministers discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing and fostering them in all fields, in such a way as to meet the expectations of the two governments and will serve the common interests of the two peoples. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
World Affairs Council of Washington grants UAE Ambassador Distinguished Diplomatic Service Award 2013
Washington D.C: World Affairs Council of Washington, DC (WAC-DC) has granted recently Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba, Ambassador to the United States, the "Distinguished Diplomatic Service Award 2013" on behalf of the UAE diplomatic corps.
The award recognizes the work the UAE has done to strengthen its bilateral relationship with the US through diplomatic outreach and engagement.
Al Otaiba received the Award during a ceremony held by the Council on the occasion of Global Education Gala.
The officials of the Council hailed the outstanding efforts of the ambassador in the educational and humanitarian work inside the UAE, stressing the strong relations and the surging growth between the two countries, in the field of trade exchange and partnership contributed to building cultural bridges between the two countries. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
Cairo: A 9-year Emirati young talent was recognised today by the Arab League for his creative inventions to make life of persons with special needs easier.
Adib Sulieman Al Balouchi was honoured during the launch of the first forum of Arab inventors in Cairo in the presence of Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al Arabi, top officials from the Arab League officials, Musheera Abu Ghali, chairperson of the Arab Youth Council for Integrated Development (Aycid), Abdullah Al Khashrami, Chairman of Arab Culture and Information Centre founder of Arab Scientific Club and a number of Arab scientists and investors.
The young Emirati smart mind has won scores of accolades including the Cairo-based UN Information Centre's Excellence Award 2013 on scientific research and invention. The Arab Youth Council for Integrated Development (Aycid) has awarded him its honorary membership and named him head of its committee of young inventors and innovators. He was also honoured by the UAE Permanent Ambassador to the Arab League, Mohamed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri.
In his address to the forum, Al Balouchi said: '' He was asked by many people how did he win the title of the young Emirati scientist at six. My answer was why not: I'm the child of Zayed and the beloved UAE.'' ''I could not have taken this floor today without the sponsorships and support from my country's leadership, which provided me with the a thought-provocative environment and cleared the way before me until my inventions appeared to public,'' he said.
His inventions include a wheel chair and a prosthetic.
The Arab League Secretary appreciated the creations of the Emirati young scientist. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
