ROP Marks its Annual Day
Nizwa, Jan 5 (ONA)---The Royal Oman Police (ROP) celebrated its annual day in a military parade held at the Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences in Nizwa today under the patronage of Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed al-Nu'amani, Minister of the Royal Office.
The military parade was staged by a column of graduates from the 29th batch representing university officers and the 30th batch of specialized officers, as well as groups and detachments of new police recruits and female police.
Gen. Al-Nu'amani gave a speech expressing his sincere gratitude for being honoured to patronize over the ROP celebration, which enjoyed the Royal care and attention of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said. He congratulated all ROP Command, formations and personnel, as well as officers and new recruits graduates.
He affirmed the truth that the Sultanate is an oasis of safety and security, thanks to the wise policy pursued by His Majesty the Sultan and the roles carried out by ROP along with other security apparatuses to maintain security and public order.
The Royal Office Minister addressed the graduates, urging them to be faithful, honest and a good model while carrying out their duty, wishing them success in their practical march as loyal guards for achievements of the this country.
Meanwhile, Gen. Al-Nu'amani conferred the excellent service medal on a number of ROP senior officers in the presence of a number of ministers, advisors, the Inspector General of Police and Customs, the Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF), the commanders of SAF and security apparatuses, the Governor of the A'Dakhiliyah, honourable members of the State Council, members of the Majlis A'Shura, a number of ROP commissioned and non-commissioned officers, sheikhs and dignitaries of the the A'Dakhiliyah Governorate.
Col. Rashid bin Salim al-Badi, Commander of the Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences said that marking ROP annual day this year comes as it make steady strides towards honourable future amidst achievements that came as a fruit of major efforts being exerted by ROP.
He added that the ROP efforts were crowned by winning two awards in the Sultan Qaboos Competition for e-Excellence and His Majesty the Sultan's Cup in the annual equestrian festival, besides ROP absorbing large numbers of sons of this country.
ROP marking its glorious day comes amidst honourable achievements crowned by obtaining the award of the best e-content (centres' computing system), as well as the award of the best governmental service provided for the private sector (civil status system "2nd issue"), as well as the success of ROP in employing big numbers of Omani ambitious youths, constructing and developing a number of installations, utilities and services for the sake of improving performance level of the police apparatus.
