AUSTRALIAN REGIONAL YOUTH TAKE IT TO THE UNITED NATIONS

AUSTRALIAN REGIONAL YOUTH TAKE IT TO THE UNITED NATIONS

Your UN representative is on the road through regional Australia, listening to the concerns of young people before heading to New York to share your concerns at a global level.

In September Samah Hadid will stand up in front of the United Nations general assembly in New York and talk about the issues that young people in Australia face in 2010.

But before then, Samah is busy doing her homework.

The 2010 Australian representative to the United Nations Youth Association is travelling the country canvassing young people on their concerns and cares. She's asking about the problems they face and the changes they'd like to see in their society.

Samah was in Morwell recently hearing from Gippsland youth about the issues that affect their lives.

Employment and education, transport, alcohol and drug use and abuse and boredom were some of the issues up for discussion when representatives of local youth councils and other youth organisations joined in a discussion with the young woman from Sydney who will represent them on an international stage.
