Prince Alwaleed Receives Chas Freeman Former US Middle East Policy Council President to Discuss ME Social Issues

HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) received at his office former US Ambassador Mr. Chas W. Freeman, Former US Middle East Policy Council President (MEPC). Mr. Freeman was accompanied by Mr. Frank R Anderson, the President of the MEPC and Mr. Omar M. Kader, Chairman of the Board, MEPC.

The meeting began as Mr. Freeman thanked the Prince for receiving him and introduced Mr. Anderson, and Mr. Kader to Prince Alwaleed who represent the new leadership at the MEPC. Moreover, the MEPC members presented HRH with new proposals aimed at expanding the existing positive dialogue and understanding regarding US Policy and the Middle East. In addition, Mr. Freeman updated the Prince on the current status of the US economy and the affect it is having on the MEPC.

The Prince had contributed $100,000 towards the council's teacher training programs that help secondary school teachers address topics on Islam to raise social awareness, and also made a $1 million contribution that to the MEPC to help develop future projects.

In response, Prince Alwaleed had acknowledged the importance and vital role of the council for improving the current East-West dialogue. The Prince had also expressed his readiness to continuously contribute and support the Middle East Policy Council in its active cause. The meeting concluded as Mr. Freeman thanked Prince Alwaleed for his support and commended him on his efforts which have given a sense of pride to the Arab world in general, and Saudi Arabia in particular. Furthermore, Mr. Freeman said that HRH plays a vital role in bridging the gap between cultures and developing economic, and social fronts for better understanding and peace. 

The meeting was also attended by KHC members that included Ms. Heba Fatani Executive Manager Corporate Communications Department, Dr. Nahla Al Anbar, Private Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman and Ms. Aysha Alkusayer, Assistant Executive Manager, Strategic Studies Department at Alwaleed bin Talal Foundation.
