Top Kuwaiti Female students visit some of KFAED's projects in Lebanon 2/4/2010 BEIRUT-- The delegation of top Kuwaiti female students who currently pay a week-long visit to Lebanon made a tour here Thursday to some USD 48.4 million-value projects carried out by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development in Southern Lebanon. Coordinator of the KFAED's projects in Southern Lebanon Ali Khalifa told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) today during the tour that the projects implemented by the KFAED in Southern Lebanon totaled 17 and they are ranging between infrastructure and the works of development in social, economic, cultural and archaeological fields. The Kuwaiti female students delegation paid a visit to a number of these projects including the project of restoring the Qana Martyrs Museum, the equipment the Joseph Meghizel library in Tabnin project, the Imam Ali Clinic in Tyre district project and the Boarding Recuperation Centre project in Sarafand. Further, the Kuwaiti delegation also visited the boarding lodges of the Orphans Sponsoring Society in Sidon, the Development Vocational Centre in Tyre, the Water and Sanitary Drainage project in Tyre and the Emergency Centre Project for the Bint Jbeil Municipalities Union etc. The Kuwaiti female students also made a cultural and tourist tour that included visiting Al-Shaqif fort, Al-Hajr valley and Jenin town where they watched the towers built by Kuwait, besides the sites of ground and marine antiquities in Tyre along with visiting Al-Batm mountains. This week-visit to Lebanon is organized by the KFAED to make the students get a closer look at its project there. Â KFAED praised for organizing educational trips for top students 2/4/2010 CAIRO-- Kuwaiti Ambassador to Egypt praised on Thursday an educational program organized by Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) for outstanding Kuwaiti students. Dr. Rashid Al-Hamad said in a statement during a meeting with the Kuwaiti students taking part in the program, "Be among the distinguished," that the program granted them an opportunity to meet eminent figures and visit landmark cultural, historic and tourist sites. He praised managers of the program for organizing a tour for the Kuwaiti students in Egypt, a country rich in significant cultural heritage and experience in development, As part of the program, due to end on February 7, 12 outstanding Kuwaiti male students are visiting Egypt and 12 female students are currently on a tour in Lebanon. The ambassador praised KFAED for its contributions to development projects in Egypt, affirming that these activities boosted the bilateral relations between Kuwait and Egypt. Abdel Aziz Al-Rubaiaan, a student involved in the program, said in a statement on behalf of the group that the project is helpful for enriching their personality. He also thanked KFAED, the embassy and Egyptian authorities for their contribution in the activity. Meanwhile, several of the students, after visiting the Egyptian museum in Cairo, called on the Kuwaiti authorities to build more museums. Ibrahim Al-Duaij said the Kuwaiti museums should be equipped with up-to-date technical systems and made attractive to tourists. Saleh Mehdi echoed Al-Duaij's call and urged for setting up an independent authority to manage the Kuwaiti museums. For his part, Mohammad Al-Ajmi hailed the Egyptians' good care for the museums. Also today, the students visited the headquarters of the Egyptian Electricity Company. In a statement, Board Chairman of the company, Dr. Mohammad Awad, welcomed the guests and praised KFAED for funding many development ventures in the country. He indicated at a plan to set up a joint power grid with Saudi Arabia. Â
