EGP1 Million from Prince Alwaleed in Support of Egypt’s National Soccer Team For Winning the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations

HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company awarded EGP1 Million to Egypt’s National Soccer Team. This gesture was in support of the team winning the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations (27th) for 3 consecutive times, and 7th time since its inception. The Egyptian Team won (one goals to nil) to Ghana in the final match on Sunday January 31st 2010 in Angola.

HRH’s latest initiative is an extension of his support to sports in general and the importance of encouraging clubs and federations to attract male and female members to improve their skills and participate constructively.

In 2008, Prince Alwaleed awarded EGP1 Million to Egypt’s National Soccer Team. This gesture was in support of the team reaching the finals for the 26th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2008 after winning their match against Cote d’Ivoire (four goals to one).
