Mohammed bin Rashid hails Saudi’s role in maintaining stability in region, praises King Salman

The visit of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, which coincides with celebrations of the 45th UAE National Day, is a source of pride for the UAE people, given the strong historical ties that link the two countries, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has said.

Saudi Arabia and UAE have a common history, geography and destiny. They are united by a common outlook and shared principles. Today, King Salman is leading the Arab world towards becoming a strong, balanced region whose interests are protected, he said.

Sheikh Mohammed also hailed King Salman's positions on various issues, which he said will be remembered by future generations. He said, "History will inscribe it in golden letters, because of his contributions towards unifying the GCC region to work together in combating the dangers it faces. He noted that Saudi Arabia has played an important role in creating the GCC.

He also praised the important role played by Saudi Arabia in preserving the region's resources and maintaining its development gains despite the challenges it faces and widespread international changes.

Sheikh Mohammed said the UAE will always stand with Saudi Arabia. "Saudi Arabia plays a key role in maintaining the region's stability, and King Salman with his wisdom and determination is the best person that we trust to be the leader in this critical juncture in history. No doubt, the aspirations we have for our people, the speed of changes in the world and seriousness of the challenges our region are facing, have shaped a unique relationship between the Saudi Arabia and the UAE."

He noted that this relationship is a model for Arab-Arab cooperation as it paves the way for more successes in integration and cooperation between the two countries. "Our relationship is an example of perfect partnership. If Arab countries had the same relationship, the situation in the region would have been different," he said.

"The strong relationship between UAE and KSA will help unlock new opportunities across various sectors. The cooperation between UAE and KSA provides unlimited opportunities for the people of both countries, and is a source of strength for the Gulf region, and hope for the Arab nation."

"Our cooperation with the Kingdom is enduring, and our coordination continues to be strong. Our relationship is now at its best. We have the same vision for the betterment of the people of our two countries and we are led by two of the best leaders who have strong determination."

Sheikh Mohammed also touched on the cooperation between UAE and Saudi private sectors. "Today we have a strong foundation for cooperation between the private sectors of our two countries, which will bring unlimited opportunities and investments," he said.

He also expressed the wish that the coming period will see more interaction between the private sectors of the two countries, which will create more opportunities that will support both countries' sustainable development objectives.

Sheikh Mohammed also said that the UAE and Saudi Arabia are preparing for a new phase of growth and development. Both countries believe in the importance of partnership to expand the opportunities available to their people, and to achieve sustainable development.

 

Saudi King, VP visit Heritage sites in Dubai

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia and Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, have visited the historic landmarks of Dubai that reflect the authenticity of the UAE community and its association with the Gulf and Arab culture.

The visit also reflects the leadership's keenness to preserve the state's historic cultural heritage.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid welcomed the Saudi king to Dubai, stressing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UAE share common history, geography and destiny as they constitute the solid foundation of strong relations between the two countries and two brotherly people.

He referred to the joint efforts towards achieving a better future for the entire region, adding that these relations would be extended to the next generation to enjoy the glory and pride whose foundations were laid by forefathers. He paid tribute to the forefathers whose rich role in the Gulf culture would always remain a source of inspiration, pride and dignity.

The motorcade of the Saudi King crossed the Sheikh Zayed Road on its way to the heritage areas in Dubai, where he was also briefed about the modern features of Dubai, a mark of the great development achieved by the emirate over the past decades in terms of advanced infrastructure, and global competitiveness ranking.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed received King Salman upon his arrival at the Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House, where he started the tour. The house was built in 1896 in Shindagha area as the residence of Al Maktoum family until 1958. The Saudi King also stunned the audience with his more information about the history of the region, lineages and civilisation.

King Salman examined the footage documenting the ancient life and other house collections, including rare collections of the emirate's historic and official documents, in addition to the original jewellery, coins, stamps and other important historical exhibits.

The Saudi King, along with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, also visited Saruq Al-Hadid Archaeology Museum, where he was briefed on its unique collections, chronicling the important historical features of Dubai and the UAE.

The tour also included a number of historic quarters in Shindagha area, where King Salman was briefed about the old Emirati architecture that marks the identity of the heritage area, and the unique homes overlooking the Dubai Creek.
