Nasrallah warns of the largest distortion of Islam in history.

Beirut: In a speech during the Ashura ceremony, Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah says that "the current Takfirist control and practices over large areas in some countries, make us determine the nature of the dangers resulting from it".

He adding that "this movement does not attribute crimes to the party that followed but it wants to be attributed directly to the Book of Allah, and this is very dangerous."

He pointed to "the threat posed by this Takrifi trend and its speech attributed to Islam, the true Islam as a religion, concepts and values. In practice, when they kill and slaughter they refer to Koranic verses and false hadiths from the Prophet."

"In time, this will lead to a wrong understanding of Islam. What is happening today is the biggest distortion of Islam in history because the nature of the events taking place are unparalleled in history. We are in a time of communication, and media that transmits the scene to everyone  in the world.".

He continued: "the results of this situation is to push non-Muslims from Islam and to look at Muslims as a wild and bloodthirsty group."

Nasrallah believes that "what is happening is a threat to Islam as a religion and the Islamic nation and communities. We should not only address the problem but also tackle the causes of the emergence of these Takfiri movements and forces in the Muslim world".

"Today we need to identify everything; 200 years ago, a new intellectual movement originated in the Arab region. It was decided to give it government support to disseminate its ideas across the world in schools and universities; study centres, newspapers, publishing houses and media access to satellite TV. Hundreds of billions of dollars all over the world was spent for the deployment of this thought.

"This thought is based on the atonement of everyone else and shed blood, money and honour of all those whom they consider infidels for the slightest most trivial reason.”
