9 Omanis in Forbes’ most powerful Arab women list

MUSCAT — Nine Omani women from diverse sectors have made their country proud by being the ‘Most Powerful Arab Women’ among 200 others in a ranking by Forbes Middle East.

Dr Rawya bint Saud al Busaidiya, Minister of Higher Education ranked 2nd while Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education was 7th.

Hunaina Sultan al Mughairy, Oman’s Ambassador to the United States (27th), Haifa al Khaifi, Petroleum Development Oman, CFO (40), Ghada al Yousef, Oman Electricity Holding Company SAOC, Executive Manager (45), Dr Shaikha bint Salim al Musalmiyah, State Council member and Head of the Social Committee (46), Maitha al Mahrouqi (pictured), Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Tourism (47), Lyutha Sultan al Mughairy, Oman Permanent Representative to the UN (48), and Assila Zaher al Harthy, Group 6, CEO (49) have featured in the 2014’s 200 Most Powerful Arab Women of Forbes Middle East List.

Egypt, with 29 entries, topped the regional list of the 200 Most Powerful Arab Women ranking while Saudi Arabia has 27, followed closely by the UAE, with 26 entries.

The Forbes Middle East has their names and bio-profile in its September issue whih is now on stands and also includes impressive lineup of highly inspirational and accomplished women from family business and government, as well as top C-level executives in the corporate sphere.
