King Abdullah II of Jordan, Queen Rania & Prince Alwaleed Hold Private Meeting

HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on Tuesday 22nd April 2014. Prince Alwaleed was cordially received by HE Dr. Fayez Tarawneh, Chairman of the Jordanian Royal Court and HE Mr. Sami Abdullah Alsaleh, Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Jordan.

During the visit, His Majesty King Abdullah II, Her Majesty Queen Rania and Prince Alwaleed held a private meeting at Al Husseiniya Palace. The meeting discussions revolved around important issues and the latest developments on the regional, and international fronts, in addition to KHC’s investments in Jordan.

Also during the meeting, the two discussed the strong friendship between His Majesty and Prince Alwaleed, and the social and economic bi-lateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Jordan. Prince Alwaleed commended the King on his efforts in further strengthening the friendship between their respective countries, wishing Jordan and its people prosperity and success.

In 2008, Prince Alwaleed held a meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan at the George V Hotel in Paris.

In 1997, Prince Alwaleed was awarded “The Star Decoration of the First Order” by the late King Hussein Bin Talal of Jordan, in recognition of the Prince’s regional and international investments and philanthropy.

Prince Alwaleed’s investments in Jordan through Kingdom Holding Company, in the hospitality sector, include the Four Seasons Amman hotel, four hotels managed by Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts; two in Petra, one in Aqaba and another in the Dead Sea, and investment in the banking sector through Citigroup.
