The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, made a declaration concerning the events taking place in the Arab Republic of Egypt in which he said: "It is with profound sadness that we have followed the events taking place in our second homeland, the sister Arab Republic of Egypt; events that gladden every enemy averse to  the stability and security of Egypt and its people and, at the same time, grieve all those who love Egypt and seek the preservation  of its integrity and cohesion which are currently being threatened by the machinations of malevolent persons in an attempt doomed to failure, God willing, to undermine its unity and stability through ignorant persons inadvertently or deliberately furthering the schemes of its enemies".

He went on to say: "I urge the men of Egypt and the Arab and Islamic nations, e1ninent religious scholars, intellectuals, writers and sensible and rational people to take a united stand with single-minded resolve against anyone attempting to destabilize a State which, side by side with its noble brothers , has been at the forefront in the history of the Islamic Arab nation, and not to remain silent and indifferent to what is happening ('He who keeps silent about right and truth is a mute devil ')".

He added: "The whole world should know that the Government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have stood, and stand today, against terrorism, misguidance and sedition and against anyone attempting to interfere in Egypt 's internal affairs and obstruct its determination, its abihty - God willing - and its legitimate right to deter anyone seeking to mislead or manipulate any of our Egyptian brothers who might be ingenuous. Any persons interfering in its internal affairs should know that they are thereby fanning the flames of sedition and nurturing the terrorism that they claim to be fighting. It is to be hoped that they will come to their senses before it is too late. Islamic and Arab Egypt with its glorious history will not be changed by any of their utterances or postures since, by the grace and power of God, it will be able to weather the storm and, when it does so, those persons will realize that they were in the wrong but their remorse will be unavailing.

Success is Bestowed by God in Whom We Place our Trust and Confidence."
