A Palestinian Center for prisoners’ affairs in Israeli jails announced the first case of conception of a Gaza Strip prisoner’s wife by smuggled sperm. The director of "Prisoners Centre for Studies", the liberated prisoner Raafat Hamdouna said in a statement, that the conception of prisoner Tamer Za'anin’s wife was confirmed last Thursday after a transplant operation that took place two weeks ago after smuggling sperm from her imprisoned husband. Za'anin’s Wife expressed her extreme pleasure at the success of the IVF operation and pregnancy of which she has long dreamed of, especially since her husband was arrested three months after their marriage and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Hamdouna mentioned that sperm smuggling is a complex process that the occupation prisons’ administration has failed to detect up to now.
