PARRAMATTA RESIDENTS LET DOWN AGAIN BY LABOR "Unlike Labor, the Coalition will build WestConnex": Martin Zaiter ``Labor and Julie Owens have once again failed the people of Western Sydney, this time with their much delayed, strings attached, bogus commitment to finally build WestConnex,’’ Liberal candidate for Parramatta Martin Zaiter said. ``NSW Labor had 16 years to deliver WestConnex and Federal Labor has had 5 years to deliver it, both have failed. Labor has continually neglected Western Sydney and has no credibility when it comes to delivering the key infrastructure the people of Parramatta need. ``Labor’s pledge for WestConnex has been pushed far into the never-never, with Labor withholding most of the funds until at least 2019-20! Does Julie Owens think it acceptable that most of the funding has been withheld by Labor for at least 6 years? ``Labor has also placed conditions on their commitment which would add a further $6billion to the total cost of the project. These conditions have been rejected by the NSW Government as an unacceptable deal breaker. Julie Owens knows this Federal Labor Government won’t commit to this project and its phoney promise of funds will never be seen. Just like the former NSW Labor government, Labor doesn’t deliver on roads. ``The people of Western Sydney are sick of Labor’s broken promises and empty commitments. They want real solutions that will reduce their daily commute so they spend less time in traffic jams and more time at home with their families,’’ Mr Zaiter said. While Labor attempts a cruel hoax on the residents of Western Sydney, Tony Abbott and Martin Zaiter have committed to end Labor’s neglect. ``Unlike Labor, the Coalition will build WestConnex. We will work with the O’Farrell Government and get construction underway within 12 months. Unlike Labor we will start funding WestConnex in 2014-15,’’ Mr Zaiter said. ``The Liberal Party have a proven track record of delivering infrastructure for Western Sydney. We have a strong Plan, to balance the budget and invest in the vital infrastructure projects that Labor has neglected for far too long.’’ |
