Sydney - M E Times Int'l:

KUWAIT-- Under the patronage and in the presence of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Kuwait Fire Force launched on Thursday exercise (Shamel-7) in Arifjan, with the participation of 27 government parties.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah, along with several ministers and senior officials, attended the event.

His Highness the Prime Minister said, in a statement after the event, that he was pleased to attend the exercise (Shamel-7), and expressed his appreciation towards the coordination between concerned parties that contributed to the success of the event.

He also affirmed the government's full support by providing the concerned departments with all the equipment needed in drills and exercises in order to be ready in case of emergencies.

On his part, Head of Kuwait Fire Force Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Makrad said that the exercise of (shamel 7) aims to prepare all concerned departments against any natural disaster or crisis in every way possible.

Al-Makrad expressed, on behalf of all the participating parties, his appreciation to His Highness the Prime Minister, wishing him further success and security and safety for Kuwait under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Shiekh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
